There are several invested images within the UBC identity system:
1) 4 Maltese crosses, 2) the dove, a symbol of piece and of the Holy Spirit during the baptism of Christ, 3) a sphere, representing the earth, 4) the cardinal directions, indicative of the 4 corners of the earth and a missional mindset, 5) the Icthus, a traditional symbol for believers, 6) an eye, reminding us to keep one eye on eternity, 7) a crown, representing a king's crown or crown of glory, 8) a crown of thorns as worn by Christ on the cross.
